Research Project Submission Process

GRAPPA Research Project Submission Process-01 (1)

Instructions for Submitting a Letter of Intent for Research Project Review:

Submitting a research proposal directly to the GRAPPA Research Committee is not intended to circumvent or replace the GRAPPA Pilot Research Grant process. Rather, this pathway is designed for projects that seek broader collaboration and alignment with GRAPPA’s research priorities. Proposals should clearly outline potential funding sources and demonstrate the value of GRAPPA’s involvement in supporting the research objectives. For pilot research funding opportunities, please refer to the GRAPPA Pilot Research Grant program.
When submitting a proposal, please clearly demonstrate their relevance to GRAPPA’s mission and contribute meaningfully to our worldwide focus on advancing knowledge in psoriatic disease.

Prepare a brief Letter of Intent (2-3 pages maximum) that includes the following information:

- Project title
- Principal investigator(s) and institutional affiliation(s)
- Brief background and rationale for the proposed research
- Specific aims/objectives
- Potential impact and significance
- Estimated budget range
- Proposed project timeline

Please note that GRAPPA will not be able to sponsor clinical trials of industry-owned therapeutics seeking regulatory approval for new indications.

The GRAPPA Research Committee Co-Chairs will review the Letter of Intent and respond with feedback within one week of submission.

If the Letter of Intent is approved, you will be invited to submit a full research proposal. A Research Proposal Submission Template can be found here to clarify the required information.

The full research proposal will undergo a comprehensive review by members of the GRAPPA Research Committee. A final decision will be provided within one month of receiving the complete proposal.

Please note that approval of the Letter of Intent does not guarantee funding or final approval of the full research proposal. The Letter of Intent is intended to provide an initial evaluation of the project's alignment with GRAPPA's research priorities and feasibility. If you have any further questions, please contact the GRAPPA Research Committee Co-Chairs at admin@grappanetwork.org.

GRAPPA aims to support its researchers by providing flexibility in unforeseen circumstances. The No-Cost Extension (NCE) process allows grant recipients to request additional time to complete their projects without additional funding. Please follow the guidelines attached to submit your request.

Key questions, projects, and activities this group oversees:

Organizing the Trainee Symposium/Abstract selection at the Annual Meeting.

Organizing/reviewing the GRAPPA Pilot Grant awards.

GRAPPA Collaborative Research Network (CRN).

The GRAPPA Research Committee is identified as a scientific advisory committee. The objective of the RC is to provide independent advice and peer review to the GRAPPA Board and GRAPPA membership on the scientific, clinical and financial aspects of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis research. The RC will inform on recent research and research-related policy, advise on industry trends and emerging research projects, disseminate information about GRAPPA-sponsored research and programs, and provide input on which research projects to fund.
